Priyanka Gill, the co-founder of Good Glamm Group, a leading content-to-commerce beauty and personal care company, has joined Kalaari Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm, as a venture partner. She will be heading the CXXO initiative, which aims to support and scale more women-led businesses in the startup ecosystem.
Gill will also join the board of Good Glamm and become the chairperson of Good Media Co, the digital media arm of the group that runs popular platforms such as POPxo and Plixxo. She will continue to advise on strategic and investment matters for the group, while taking on special oversight for the content-to-commerce flywheel that has been the key driver of Good Glamm’s growth.
Gill’s move to a more strategic role at Good Glamm has been part of a planned transition over the last 12 months, the company said in a news release. Gill was the founder and CEO of POPxo, a digital community platform for women, which was acquired by Good Glamm in 2020 and merged with its beauty brand MyGlamm. Since then, Good Glamm has expanded its portfolio to include Sirona Hygiene, a feminine hygiene brand, and BabyChakra, a parenting platform.
Good Glamm achieved unicorn status in 2021, after raising $150 million in a Series D funding round led by private equity firm Warburg Pincus and Prosus Ventures. The company has a customer base of over 5.6 million and a network of 729 branches and 16,239 banking access points across 24 states and union territories in India.
